The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the NEET UG Re-Exam Result 2026, with 11.21 lakh candidates qualifying for admission to undergraduate medical, dental, AYUSH, and allied health science programmes. The re-examination was conducted on June 21 after the original test was cancelled following an alleged paper leak.

Nearly 20 lakh candidates appeared for the examination, which was held at 5,440 centres across 551 cities in India and 14 international locations. Candidates who cleared the examination are now eligible to participate in the admission process for various undergraduate medical courses.
Punjab’s Aryan Gupta and Haryana’s Pranshul Bansal emerged as the joint toppers, each securing 715 out of 720 marks. A total of 19 candidates scored above 700 marks, while 138 aspirants obtained more than 690 marks. Among these top performers, over 93% were appearing for NEET for the first time, and 99% belonged to the 17-19 years age group.
Female candidates delivered an impressive performance this year, making up more than 58% of all qualified candidates. Their overall success rate also exceeded that of male candidates, with 56.8% of women clearing the examination compared to 55.1% of men.
The examination was conducted in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, and Bengali, ensuring accessibility for students from diverse linguistic backgrounds.
State-Wise Performance
Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest number of successful candidates, with over 1.7 lakh qualifiers, while Lakshadweep had 43 candidates qualify.
The top 17 ranks (candidates scoring above 705 marks) were shared among students from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana.
Among regional toppers, Jigmet Yangchan Lamo from Ladakh scored 530 marks, Dhruv Tripathi from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands secured 606 marks, and Fahmida Anees from Lakshadweep scored 573 marks.
Candidates can now check their NEET UG Re-Exam Result 2026 on the official NTA website using their application number and date of birth. The qualified candidates will next participate in the counselling process for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other undergraduate medical programmes across the country.
