Heavy rainfall has affected several parts of the state, including the Bastar division and central Chhattisgarh. Rivers such as the Indravati, Mahanadi and Shivnath are witnessing a significant rise in water levels, while several cities and towns are experiencing waterlogging.
Flood-Affected People Shifted to Safer Locations
The continuous rainfall has disrupted normal life in several districts. People stranded in flood-affected areas, including parts of Durg and Bastar, have been evacuated and moved to safer locations.
Waterlogging has also affected several low-lying areas in cities and towns. Road traffic has been disrupted at multiple locations, including stretches of the Raipur-Jagdalpur National Highway, making travel difficult for commuters.
Chief Minister Directs Officials to Remain Alert
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has instructed collectors in the affected districts to remain on high alert and ensure that relief and rescue operations are carried out promptly.
District administrations have been directed to monitor the situation and take necessary steps to protect residents in vulnerable and flood-affected areas as rainfall continues to impact the state.
With rivers flowing at elevated levels and several areas facing waterlogging, authorities are closely monitoring the situation and coordinating efforts to provide assistance to affected residents.
