.The Maharashtra State Cabinet has sanctioned an important financial proposal to secure a loan of ₹6,000 crore for the development of the Purandar Greenfield Airport near Pune. This decision represents a major advancement in strengthening the state’s aviation infrastructure and further establishes Purandar as an emerging key hub for future air connectivity.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis shared the update following the state cabinet’s approval of the project on Tuesday, stating that strict directives have been given to complete the land acquisition process by June 1, 2026.

Project Framework and Key Participants
The project is being executed through a collaborative effort involving multiple government agencies. This arrangement ensures coordinated development, aiming to create not only an airport but also a large-scale industrial hub.
- CIDCO: Owns the largest share, holding 51% equity in the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV).
- MADC: Functions as the primary coordinating authority with a 19% stake.
- MIDC and PMRDA: Each organization has a 15% ownership share in the venture.
