The 2023 Fashion Awards, presented by Pandora, took place on Monday, December 4th, 2023, at the iconic Royal Albert Hall in London. The event celebrated excellence in creativity, amplified leaders of change, and supported the next generation of creative talent within the fashion industry.
The British Fashion Council unveiled the red carpet at the Royal Albert Hall on December 4, marking the conclusion of the Fashion Awards 2023‘s objective to “amplify leaders of change, celebrate excellence in creativity and support the next generation of creative talent.
Among the most stylishly attired? Using Valentino’s archive, Lila Moss modelled a Nensi Dojaka dress inspired by her mother; Suki Waterhouse wore a high-street hero; Alexa Chung channeled her inner Joan of Arc in 16 Arlington; and Anne Hathaway channeled spaghetti-chic.
Maya Jama and Kojey Radical co-hosted the event, while Law Roach provided commentary from the red carpet. London honoured the most prominent figures in the business, such as Edward Enninful from Vogue, who won the Trailblazer Award while sporting Phoebe Philo’s debut male line. The Outstanding Achievement Award went to Valentino Garavani, and Special Recognition Awards went to Sarah Burton and Charlotte Tilbury.
Paloma Elsesser defeated Alton Mason, Anok Yai, Kai-Isaiah Jamal, Liu Wen, and Mona Tougaard to win the Model of the Year Award, making the field the most varied it has ever been. Michaela Coel was named the recipient of the Pandora Leader of Change Award.
Amid all the glamour and splendour, it’s important to keep in mind that the BFC Foundation receives funding from The Fashion Awards. Through its pillars of talent, education, grant giving, and business mentorship, the BFC Foundation supports designers at all stages of their careers.
The Fashion Awards raised over £1.3 million last year, which was given to the most promising talent in the industry. Given that many rising stars are struggling with Britain’s unstable financial situation, this amount was significant. Thanks to sponsors like Pandora, the event looks to be just as successful this year.

Tonight’s ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall looks set to be an emotional one, with 91-year-old Valentino Garavani receiving a special tribute in honour of his outstanding contribution to the fashion industry, and Sarah Burton, the departing creative director of Alexander McQueen, competing for the Designer of the Year award.
