NEET PG exam 2024 Postponed

NEET PG exam 2024 has been postponed amid controversies over the integrity of competitive exams; the Ministry of Health will review the examination process.

There will be no National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG 2024). A day ahead of the scheduled date for the 2024 postgraduate medical entrance examination, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare announced on Saturday that the test, which was supposed to take place today, June 23, has been postponed as a “precautionary measure” and a new date will be announced later.

Why NEET PG exam 2024 has been postponed?

The Ministry of Health has decided to review the procedure for administering the NEET PG examination in light of the ongoing controversy surrounding some of the largest exams in the nation, including the NEET UG for undergraduate medical admissions, the UGC NET for JRF, appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to PhD degree, and the CSIR NET for JRF, Assistant Professorship and PhD admissions in Science subjects.

“Taking into consideration, the recent incidents of allegations regarding the integrity of certain competitive examinations, Ministry of Health has decided to undertake a thorough assessment of the robustness of processes of NEET-PG Entrance Examination, conducted by National Board of Examination for medical students,” it said.

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), which administers the NEET PG examination, issued a warning on social media a day prior to the exam’s cancellation regarding fraudulent individuals attempting to trick candidates into believing they could provide questions in exchange for money. This information should also be mentioned.

“NBEMS has registered a police complaint against such fraudsters and their accomplices for their attempt to befool NEET-PG aspirants in the name of providing questions of NEET-PG 2024 for a considerable sum of money,” the board said on Friday. It also warned the candidates that direct or indirect indulgence in any such activities will be “appropriately dealt with”.

In contrast to UGC NET, NEET PG has not yet released an official statement on the paper leak. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan declared earlier this week that the UGC NET exam was cancelled after it was discovered that the material had been leaked on Darknet.
