A recent brutal murder in Karnataka has shaken the nation. Neha Hiremath, a young college student, was tragically stabbed to death on the college campus itself. This horrific incident has sparked outrage and raised questions about safety and security.
The mother of 23-year-old Fayaz, who assassinated Congress councillor Neha Hiremath within a Hubballi college campus, denied the accusation of “love jihad” and asserted that their relationship was one of “love.”
Fayaz’s father, Baba Saheb Subani, a school teacher, told the media on Saturday that he was startled and devastated by his son’s actions when he learned about the incident at around 6 p.m. on Thursday.
“Fayaz ought to receive punishment severe enough to deter anyone from doing the same in the future. I apologies to Neha’s family members with folded palms. With tears in his eyes, he remarked, “She was like my daughter.
For the previous six years, Subani said that he and his spouse had been living apart, with Fayaz staying with his mother and contacting him whenever he needed money. His kid and he last communicated roughly three months ago.
“Apologise With Folded Hands”: Father Of Karnataka Neha Hiremath Murder Accused
Around eight months ago, Fayaz’s father remembered receiving a call from Neha Hiremath’s family, informing them that their daughter was being bothered by his son. He added that Fayaz and Neha were in a relationship and acknowledged that his son had made a mistake.
“Fayaz told me he wanted to marry her but I refused it by folding my hands,” he stated.
Fayaz’s father denounced his son’s actions and declared that such crimes against women must never to be committed. “I ask for forgiveness from the people of Karnataka. My son committed an error. I am glad that the law of the land will punish him. My son has brought disgrace on my village. I apologise to the people of Munavalli, Fayaz’s hometown. We were raised by you. With clasped palms, he begged for forgiveness.
The victim’s family, however, has insisted that the accused be executed by hanging before their daughter’s soul can finally rest in peace. They insisted that their daughter was not romantically involved with Fayaz and that Neha’s rejection of his proposal was the reason the accused stabbed her.
Demonstrations in multiple regions of the state called for Fayaz, who was detained in relation to the event on April 18, to be executed.
Protests and public criticism have followed reports of the daughter of a city corporation council member being murdered on her college campus.
In Karnataka, the dispute has erupted into a political brawl between the opposition BJP and the ruling Congress. The ruling party has attempted to portray it as a “personal angle incident,” but the saffron party believes it is a sign of “love jihad” and the “deterioration of law and order” in the state.
On Thursday, Neha was allegedly fatally stabbed on the BVB College campus.
After leaving the scene, the accused Fayaz Khondunaik was later taken into custody by the police.
Neha had been Fayaz’s classmate in her previous year of MCA.
A senior police officer claimed that Fayaz had repeatedly stabbed her. He stated during questioning that although she had been seeing someone else recently, they had been in a relationship.
“It needs to be corroborated and verified, but he was arrested immediately,” the officer said. PTI
